2day 1st day of my polyclinic attachment... woke up at 6.30am... luckily manage 2 wake up... leave hus at 7.20am... mummy acc mi walk go hougang polyclinic... coz she going swimming which is e same way as mi... i thought i will be late lor... but in fact i reached there very early...
when i walked in 2 e polyclinic... i met another nyp student nurse... den we both walk in 2gether n chat wif each other... we oso met another nyp student nurse... all 3 of us were very scared at 1st... but aft we tok 2 each other we feel much relieved... we den go search 4 our reporting place... a cleaner told mi 2 go 2 e pantry room which is on e 2nd floor... we went up... but we dun noe where is e pantry room... luckily 1 nurse showed us e way... waited in e room 4 our preceptor...
while waiting... slowly other nyp student nurses came in... den finally e preceptor came... she brief us n took us 2 tour e polyclinic... be4 our tour, we got 2 do a pre-test... my scored was 65%... e passing mark was 60%... so i passed marginally... anyway... still got another post-test on fri... tat test must do better... if not think will get scolded ba...
aft touring e polyclinic... we got 2 go 2 e respective rooms... my 1st room 2 report 4 e day is family planning... hmm... learned wad is a pap smear... saw how a pap smear was done... noe e correct way 2 eat contraceptives pills... but was very tired la... coz i had been standding frm 10am till 12pm in e room... only got 2 sit during lunchtime... den aft lunch... got 2 report 2 room 38... room of care managers in it... at 1st very sian... coz no patients at all... so went 2 read e charts...
aft a while... a patient came in... n e care manager asked mi 2 observe how she deal wif tis patient.... den she asked mi 2 take e patient's bp... i was shocked lor... i used e method of how e staff nurse took bp... den i cant really read e bp... so i told e care manager tat i cant read e bp... n e care manager said "is tat how u were taught 2 take bp?"... i was saying in my heart... "er... no... not tis way..." so i told e care manager i wanna retake e bp... i apologised 2 e patient n care manager... luckily i was given a 2nd chance... i told e reading 2 e care manager... n she said "y just now u cant take e reading?" i replied "i took e wrong way..." gosh... aft saying tat i think e care manager will scold mi ltr... some more i get e reading inaccurate... haiz... sadded sia...
in e end i was not scolded... coz e care manager was not free at all... having 1 patient aft another... i m not dimissed at 4pm lor... coz e care manager is busy n i was observing... i dun dare 2 go off... luckily e other care manager asked mi 2 leave... if not i will carry on 2 stand sia... i leaved at 4.15pm lor... tired sia... 2day met a lot of patients... esp at room 38... really enjoyed my day... learned a lot of things too... 2ml going 2 room 4 newborn immunization... my frenz told mi tat e nurse expect us 2 prepare everything she need be4 she starts n oso cant only observe... like tat die ah... wad 2 prepare ah? really dun noe leh... suan le... 2ml c how ba... some more 2ml haf 2 go bukit batok 4 e gallery... still got test... wad a waste of time sia...
